Azerbaijan (Commerce Desk): Azerbaijan and the United States have reviewed potential cooperation in the energy sector and electricity transmission under the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, the Ministry of Energy reported.
The review took place during a roundtable meeting led by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, with participation from a US business delegation headed by Vice President Khush Choksi. Azerbaijani entities including SOCAR, Azerenergy, Azerishiq, Azeristiliktechizat, the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency, and the Energy Regulatory Agency also attended.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the Azerbaijan-US energy partnership, noting its significant role in successfully completing national, regional, and international energy projects. The technology, expertise, and investment of US companies were highlighted as decisive in shaping large transnational projects.
The meeting emphasized that strategic partnerships, supported by state-level policies, strengthen regional peace and Azerbaijan-US relations while advancing energy cooperation. Discussions focused on collaboration in electricity, oil, gas, renewable energy, hydrogen, and energy efficiency. The existing cooperation between SOCAR and ExxonMobil was reviewed.
Additional topics included the implementation of electricity corridors connecting Azerbaijan, Turkey, Central Asia, and Europe, electricity transmission via TRIPP, and potential opportunities for collaboration with US companies.
