Baku (Türkiye News) Train services on Azerbaijan’s Baku Metro were temporarily suspended after a technical fault, while passengers were evacuated from several stations as a precaution. No loss of life or property has been reported.
According to “Baku Metropolitan” company, the incident occurred at around 12:10 PM between the “Ulduz” and “Narimanov” stations, where a malfunction in the high-voltage system partially halted train operations.
As a precautionary measure, authorities evacuated the “Ulduz” and “Narimanov” stations, while access to some other stations was also temporarily suspended. Later, passengers trapped in tunnels were safely evacuated.
Metro officials said that passenger and staff safety was not compromised during the incident. Technical teams are working to identify the cause of the fault and restore power supply.
Authorities added that the system will be fully restored to normal operations once repair work is completed.
