Islamabad (Turkiye News): Following the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, formal negotiations are set to begin on April 10, with delegations and security teams from both countries starting to arrive in Pakistan.
According to sources, the Iranian delegation will be led by Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, as announced by Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh. The U.S. delegation will include Vice President J.D. Vance, along with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
In view of the talks, a two-day public holiday has been declared in Islamabad and its twin city Rawalpindi to ensure smooth security arrangements.
According to the administration, the visiting delegations will be accommodated in a high-end hotel located in the Red Zone, while the security perimeter has been extended from Zero Point to Faisal Mosque.
It is worth noting that this sensitive area includes key government buildings such as Parliament House, the Presidency, the Prime Minister’s House, and the diplomatic enclave, where embassies of various countries are located.
