Azerbaijan and Russia Agree to Expand Bilateral Cooperation

Zangilan (Turkey News) Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev has stated that there is vast potential for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia across multiple sectors, and both countries have agreed to further strengthen their partnership.

According to the state news agency, while speaking to journalists, he said that all areas of cooperation between the two countries were reviewed and consensus was reached to expand them further. He added that Russian companies have been invited to invest and collaborate in various sectors and were briefed on the facilities available in Azerbaijan, while more opportunities will be presented at the upcoming Business Council meeting in Baku.

Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that transport and logistics remain key areas of cooperation, as Azerbaijan is strategically located at the crossroads of North-South and East-West corridors. He noted that the Aghband bridge and border checkpoint hold significant importance in the region, playing a vital role in facilitating the movement of goods from Russia through Azerbaijan and Iran to Gulf countries.

He further said that this corridor provides effective connectivity between Azerbaijan, Iran, Nakhchivan, and Türkiye, which will play an important role in boosting trade activities in the future.
