Azerbaijan (Turkey News): Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov chaired the 82nd session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), held under the theme “Leaving No One Behind: Advancing Societal Progress for All Ages in Asia and the Pacific.”
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the beginning of the session, a written message from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, was read out by the foreign minister.
The meeting emphasized strengthening regional cooperation to address shared challenges and ensure that the benefits of development reach all segments of society.
Azerbaijan presented various policy priorities, including inclusive development, digital transformation, green energy transition, regional connectivity, and peacebuilding.
The “Azerbaijan 2030” development goals were also highlighted, covering areas such as education, healthcare, digital services, and equal opportunity provision.
Participants also discussed the strategic importance of the “Middle Corridor” for connectivity across Eurasia.
At the conclusion of the session, the “Bangkok Declaration” was adopted, expressing commitment to promoting social development for people of all ages across the Asia-Pacific region.
Azerbaijan reaffirmed its commitment to continuing an active role in multilateral diplomacy and further strengthening cooperation with the region.
