Baku (Turkey News) Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev has said that elderly people in the country are actively playing a role in all spheres of life, which is a matter of satisfaction.
In a message addressed to participants of the 9th Congress of the National Council of Elders held in the capital Baku, the President said that growing global risks, globalization, and especially the negative effects of social media are affecting national, moral, and family values in many countries. In such circumstances, the institution of elders in Azerbaijan has become even more important.
He said that guiding the younger generation toward patriotism, attachment to national traditions, and the right direction is among the core responsibilities of elders.
According to the President, the role of the elderly in promoting positive values in society and in the upbringing of youth is indispensable.
