Islamabad (Turkiye News) Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with US Ambassador Natalie Baker, during which detailed discussions were held on the latest regional situation and diplomatic developments.
The meeting emphasized the need for continued diplomatic engagement, including the holding of a second round of talks in Islamabad and the importance of sustained diplomatic contacts for a lasting resolution of the conflict.
The Interior Minister appreciated US President Donald Trump’s initiative for extending the ceasefire, saying it is an important step toward reducing tensions in the region. He expressed hope that a positive response would also come from Iran.
Mohsin Naqvi said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are making efforts at every level for a peaceful resolution of the issue, and all parties should give diplomacy a chance.
The US Ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and helping resolve the conflict in the region.
