According to police, the incident occurred on Monday in the city of Gainesville. The single-engine training plane experienced a technical malfunction, prompting the pilot to attempt an emergency landing on the road, as the aircraft did not have enough power to return to the airport.
Eyewitnesses and viral footage show the plane hitting several vehicles after landing on the road. Police reported that the plane’s right wing struck one vehicle, causing its fuel tank to detach, before colliding with two more cars.
Those involved sustained minor injuries, and no fatalities were reported. The affected highway was temporarily closed, resulting in a significant traffic jam.
