Trump Says Iran Cannot Blackmail the US, Signs Executive Order on Medical Reforms

Washington (Monitoring Desk) US President Donald Trump has said that Iran wants to close the Strait of Hormuz again, but it cannot blackmail the United States.

Speaking to the media during a ceremony at the White House for signing an executive order related to medical research, he said that the United States does not need anyone’s permission for its operations.

Trump also criticized Spain, saying it has failed to meet required defense spending targets and is not contributing adequately to NATO. According to him, Spain’s economy has weakened and it does not possess anything of significant value that the United States needs.

The US President said that if necessary, the United States can use military bases in Spain, although he also expressed regret over the current situation.

While discussing the executive order on the medical sector, Donald Trump said that the government is introducing reforms in the healthcare system, under which drug prices have been reduced by 50 to 80 percent.

He said that drug smuggling into the United States has also decreased, while the Food and Drug Administration will speed up the approval process for medicines that have been designated as breakthrough therapies.

According to US media, the purpose of this executive order is to promote medical research on psychedelic drugs in order to find effective treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder among veterans and other mental illnesses, and to ensure that advanced treatments reach patients more quickly.
