Islamabad (Türkiye News) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump on behalf of himself and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for accepting the request to extend the ceasefire.
In a message issued on social media, the Prime Minister said he is thankful to President Trump for approving the ceasefire extension on Pakistan’s request.
He said he hopes that the parties will be able to reach a comprehensive peace agreement during the second round of talks being held in Islamabad for the permanent resolution of the conflict.
The Prime Minister further said that Pakistan will continue its efforts for peaceful and negotiated resolution of disputes and expects both sides to continue observing the ceasefire.
It is worth mentioning that US President Donald Trump also said in his statement that attacks on Iran were halted on the request of Pakistan’s top leadership, and the ceasefire will remain in place as long as the negotiation process continues.
