Ankara (Turkey News) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that despite wars and oppression in the region, innocent children are the most affected.
Speaking at the 48th International Children’s Festival organized by Turkish Radio and Television in Ankara, he said that it is a fundamental and natural right of children to live in an environment free from war, violence, deprivation, and poverty.
He said that Türkiye is striving to stop ongoing conflicts in the region and wipe away the tears of children so that they can live in an atmosphere of peace, security, and brotherhood.
President Erdoğan congratulated children around the world on the festival and said he wishes for a life full of peace and happiness for children both in his country and across the world.
He especially mentioned the children of Palestine and Lebanon, saying that they are being forced to carry the heavy burden of war and conflict on their small shoulders.
He said that children should have the right to education, to sleep in a safe environment, and to wake up to the sounds of birds instead of fear. According to him, Türkiye not only desires a better future for its own children but also for children around the world.
The President said that children are the future of humanity and will play a key role in making the world a better place. He urged youth to promote peace, love, and brotherhood and to remember children trapped in difficult conditions in their prayers.
