Ankara (Turkiye Khabar): Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a telephonic conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi regarding the agreement reached between Iran and United States.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Iranian foreign minister thanked Türkiye for its role and cooperation in the negotiation process.
During the conversation, Hakan Fidan welcomed the agreement and expressed hope that future negotiations would also yield positive results. He emphasized the need to remain cautious against elements and provocations that could undermine the agreement.
He further stated that Türkiye will continue its efforts to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
The contact came after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran had been reached and that the signing ceremony would take place in Switzerland on Friday.
Later, both the United States and Iran confirmed the development, while US President Donald Trump also indicated easing certain sanctions and ending maritime restrictions following the agreement.
