Ankara (Turkey News) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the protection of schools is the government’s top priority and no negligence or leniency will be tolerated in this regard.
Addressing the nation after a Cabinet meeting, he said that a comprehensive strategy is needed to tackle the rising trend of violence in society, which must include the role of families, educational institutions, and digital platforms.
President Erdogan said the government is taking effective steps to identify and eliminate the factors that contribute to violence in order to ensure peace and stability in society.
He announced that the online monitoring system is being further strengthened, and the use of artificial intelligence will be expanded to improve surveillance of digital activities.
The statement came after a school shooting incident in Kahramanmaraş, in which nine people were killed and thirteen others injured.
The President said the government will further enhance coordination between schools and law enforcement agencies and introduce new security models.
He also stressed the need to strengthen communication between parents and educational institutions, establish helplines against digital addiction, and improve student guidance systems.
