Islamabad (Turkiye News): Extraordinary security arrangements have been put in place in the federal capital during the second round of Iran–US negotiations, with the Islamabad Red Zone completely sealed.
According to a notification issued by the district administration, entry and movement in sensitive areas have been fully restricted, while both private and government educational institutions and offices have been instructed to operate on a work-from-home basis. Authorities said these measures were taken due to security concerns.
Due to the restrictions, public transport remained completely suspended in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, causing severe difficulties for citizens. Passengers were seen waiting for hours at various bus terminals while trying to find alternative travel options.
A large number of citizens also turned to railway stations due to the transport shutdown, where trains witnessed unusually heavy rush. Some trains also faced delays, but passengers continued to wait in large numbers for travel.
Citizens have urged the administration to balance security measures with public convenience so that daily life is affected as little as possible.
