Ankara (Turkey News) Turkey’s defense industry has announced the expansion of cooperation with Malaysia, with progress underway on extending bilateral defense agreements between the two countries.
According to Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), the development came during the Defence Services Asia 2026 exhibition held in Kuala Lumpur.
During the event, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim visited the TAI booth and signed a model of a modern training fighter aircraft displayed there.
The company’s head said that strong defense relations already exist between Turkey and Malaysia, which have further strengthened after the delivery of unmanned aerial systems.
He added that both countries are currently working on projects related to unmanned aerial vehicles and advanced training aircraft, while TAI also maintains a permanent office in Malaysia to support ongoing cooperation.
Turkish officials said Malaysia is emerging as an important defense partner in the region, and further major defense collaborations are expected in the future.
