Ankara (Turkey News) Turkey has announced the continuation of humanitarian assistance to Lebanon amid rising displacement caused by Israeli attacks.
Lebanese and Turkish officials confirmed the development on Monday during the delivery of 360 tons of aid at the Port of Beirut, an event attended by senior representatives from both countries.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of Lebanon’s Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri, the Minister of Development, the Minister of Health, and other senior officials. Turkey was represented by Ambassador Murat Lutem and the head of a humanitarian organization.
Lebanon’s Minister Fadi Maki said that Turkey’s assistance is arriving at a critical time and reflects true solidarity between the two countries. He added that the cooperation is not limited to humanitarian aid but also represents a political stance on the regional situation.
The aid shipment included essential supplies, particularly tents, to support displaced families in southern border areas.
According to reports, more than one million people have been displaced in Lebanon due to the recent escalation, although some return movements to affected areas have also begun.
