Ankara (Turkiya News): President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey is continuing diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that negotiations remain possible.
Speaking to journalists on his return flight from visits to Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Erdogan stated that Ankara is working to prevent the region from descending further into conflict and chaos.
The Turkish president noted that he has held discussions with US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. He also mentioned a trilateral meeting in Istanbul involving the Turkish and Iranian foreign ministers.
Erdogan highlighted that opposition to military intervention in Iran was clearly expressed, and all parties are exploring avenues for diplomacy, which he described as a positive development.
He stressed that issues should be resolved through dialogue and reconciliation, not war, and that establishing a platform for negotiation is crucial amid rising military tensions.
